INTRODUCING THE TUXERS
(by an enthusiastic, anonymous fan)

Its tough to have a website when you have little or no product. It takes courage, faith, and blind ego to stand before the world and announce an international premiere within the hallowed halls of the Internet. But due to an overwhelming interest by a few people, this gritty, behind the scenes expose of the mercurial career of the Tuxers Band (and show) is being offered.

Although, over the years, they have sporadically flirted with regional fame, they (Tuxers) have yet to make a stamp on the average household. Yet one could argue that there is a Tuxer in every one of us; or one could simply choose to ignore that argument. There is, of course, no substitute for hearing them at work, making their own subjective form of music out of previously proven, and objectively beloved, pop classics. I have devoted quite some time now to tracking the anti-genius, and I will put my name on the line by saying that the Tuxers have carved a niche for themselves, within other niches.

There is, however, some frustration in being a fan. Besides a few bootleg tapes floating around the US and Europe, finding their music is not easy - their most recent recording was one of the few casualties of the Y2K debacle, which was digitally wiped out at the stroke of midnight at the recording studio. There were 12 songs all ready "in the can", which the studio computer misread as 1,900 one second songs, and the musicians ran out of song titles. (The Tuxers themselves were not very happy anyway with the proposed title for the doomed project, "Look! Its The Tuxers!") But, in the meantime, Mp3's, samples, and any info will be offered on this site, which should be called "The Tuxer Sampler." Your patience, and interest/curiosity is appreciated. I am also pleased to announce that a more full-blown, authorized, and archivally complete website is due for construction, as soon as the Tuxers are able to procure an AOL membership. (Its probably hard to make those monthly fees when you're a lounge artist.) So check out the testimonials, be prepared, and...enjoy.
